Blue & Gold Macaw

(Ara ararauna)

 The Blue and Gold Macaw is widely distributed over northern South America, including Colombia, southern Venezuela, Brazil, the Guianas, Trinidad, northern Bolivia, northern Peru, eastern Panama, and Ecuador. Length can reach 34 inches. The Blue and Gold macaw is by far the most widely seen, and most frequently kept of the larger pet macaw species. A balanced diet would consist of fruits and vegetables, Seeds and Nuts, Beans and Grains. Pelleted foods are a particularly good way of ensuring that the macaw receives a balanced nutritional content.

 

 

 

"Sunny" Sun Conure
(auricapillus solstitialia)

 Sun concures occur naturally in Guyana, northwestern Brazil, and Suriname.  They may be seen in small or large groups on the southern savannas or in open and light woodlands.  Corn on the cob, various grains, grass seeds, fruits, green food whole meal bread, mealworms can be fed to sun concures.
